AUTO HEAD LAMP / INTERIOR LAMP / POWER SEAT INCORRECT OPERATION

IF YOU CONFIRM
Any of the following:
^ Headlight delay will not shut off
^ Headlights won't turn off after vehicle is shut off
^ Battery dying after the vehicle was left overnight with lamps remaining on in auto mode
^ Door light switch not working
^ Auto headlights will not turn off
^ Headlights will not automatically go off
^ Interior lights go off after a short period of time while customer is still in the vehicle
^ Auto headlights will stay on for 30-45 minutes after vehicle is shut off and locked
^ Driver seat memory not working, seat does not retract when exiting the vehicle
^ Vehicle will not crank
^ When leaving the headlamps on manually, warning chime does not sound to alert driver the headlamps are on
^ Auto light does not go off after 3 minutes
^ The auto exit, interior lights and headlights will not turn off when exiting vehicle
^ Steering wheel will not go up when exiting vehicle
^ Interior lights inoperative
AND
The driver's and/or passenger side door switch sticks in the off or on position.
ACTION
Slightly trim the center pillar inner panel behind the door switch hole and apply zinc rich primer to prevent rust.
If the switch sticks after trimming the center pillar inner panel behind the door switch hole, replace with a new switch listed in Parts Information.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Remove front and rear kicking plate. See Figure 1.
2. Remove body side welt located on the center pillar lower garnish. See Figure 2.
3. Remove center pillar lower garnish.
4. Remove screw and pull switch out through hole.
5. Check for clearance between the door switch and center pillar inner panel:
^ If there is no clearance, perform steps 6 through 10.
^ If there is clearance, this Technical Service Bulletin does not apply. Refer to the Electronic Service Manual for further diagnostic information.
6. Trim the center pillar inner panel 2 mm (0.079 in) as shown in Figure 5b and apply zinc rich primer to prevent rust.
NOTE:
The view in 5a is from inside the vehicle.
7. Install the door switch.
8. Check the door switch to make sure it is operating properly. If door switch sticks, replace it with a new door switch listed in the Parts Information section of this bulletin.
9. Install all the parts that were removed.
10. Check to make sure the issue has been resolved.
11. Repeat steps 1 through 10 for the passenger side of the vehicle.
