Rod Bearing Cap
Tighten connecting rod bolt as follows:
Inspect the outer diameter of connecting rod bolt. Refer to EM-138, "Inspection After Disassembly". Inspection After Disassembly
Apply engine oil to the threads and seats of connecting rod bolts.
Tighten connecting rod bolts.
Torque 19.6 Nm (2.0 kg-m, 14 ft-lb)





Then tighten all connecting rod bolts 90 degrees clockwise (Angle tightening).

CAUTION:
Always use the angle wrench [SST: KV10112100 (BT8653A)]. Avoid tightening based on visual check alone.

After tightening connecting rod bolts, make sure that crankshaft rotates smoothly.
Check the connecting rod side clearance. Refer to EM-138, "Inspection After Disassembly". Inspection After Disassembly

CONNECTING ROD BOLT OUTER DIAMETER





Measure the outer diameter "d" at position shown in the figure.
If the reduction appears in a position other than "d", regard it as "d".
Standard 7.90 - 8.00 mm (0.3110 - 0.3150 in)
Limit 7.75 mm (0.3051 in)
When "d" exceeds the limit (when it becomes thinner), replace connecting rod bolt with new one.
