IF YOU CONFIRM
The outside door mirror actuator is inoperable.

ACTION
Replace the door mirror actuator with the kit listed in this bulletin.

IMPORTANT:
The purpose of ACTIONS (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing the repair.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Disconnect battery cable from negative terminal.





2. Place protection tape provided in the kit along the bottom edge of the mirror housing to protect it from scratches (see Figure 1).

3. Remove mirror from housing:

A. Push top of mirror inward to gain access to the bottom side.





B. Use a long flat blade screwdriver to carefully pry up on the mirror to (see Figures 2a and 2b).





C. Unhook the mirror from the actuator bracket (see Figure 3).





4. If heated mirrors disconnect 2 terminals from mirror glass.





5. To remove the mirror shell there are 7 tabs to release: Two at the top side one on the outer side one on the inner side and 3 along the bottom of the shell (see Figure 5).





6. Remove shell from back side of mirror housing (see Figure 6).





7. Remove 3 screws from Actuator Assembly (pointed out in Figure 7).





8. Disconnect connector located on back side of mirror housing.





9. Disconnect grey & black connectors located on back side of Actuator Assy. (see Figure 9).

A. Disconnect gray connector accessed from the back side of the mirror housing.

B. Disconnect black connector accessed from the front side of the mirror housing.





10. Remove Actuator Assembly from mirror housing and replace with new one (see Figure 10).

11. Re-connect black connector to new Actuator Assembly from front side of housing and then re-connect gray connector to Actuator Assembly from rear side of housing.

12. Re-connect connector located on back side of mirror housing.





13. Re-install shell to back side of mirror housing (see Figure 11).





14. Install and tighten 3 screws to Actuator Assembly front side of housing (see Figure 12).

15. If heated mirrors re-connect 2 terminals to glass.





16. Re-install mirror glass. (see Figure 13)





17. Push on mirror using both thumbs placed along bottom side of glass to snap into Actuator Assembly (see Figure 14).

18. Re-connect battery cable to negative terminal.

19. Check to make sure mirror moves in all directions and confirm that mirror glass heats up (turn rear defroster on and glass mirror should be warm to the touch within 2 minutes).
