C1142 PRESS SENSOR





Description
The pressure sensor converts the brake fluid pressure to an electric signal and transmits it to the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). [The pressure sensor is integrated in the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit).]

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1.DTC REPRODUCTION PROCEDURE
1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
2. Perform ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) self-diagnosis.
Is DTC "C1142" detected?
YES - Proceed to diagnosis procedure. Refer to C1142.
NO - INSPECTION END




Diagnosis Procedure
1.CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH CLEARANCE
Check stop lamp switch clearance. Refer to Procedures.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 2.
NO - Adjust stop lamp switch clearance. Refer to Procedures.
2.CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH
Check stop lamp switch. Refer to C1116.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 3.
NO - Repair or replace malfunction component.
3.CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM
1. Check brake fluid leakage: Refer to Inspection.
2. Check front brake piping: Refer to Front.
3. Check rear brake piping: Refer to Rear.
4. Check brake pedal: Refer to Procedures.
5. Check master cylinder: Refer to Procedures.
6. Check brake booster: Refer to Inspection and Adjustment.
7. Check front disc brake: Refer to Front Disc Brake.
8. Check rear disc brake: Refer to Rear Disc Brake.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 4.
NO - Repair or replace damaged parts.
4.ABS ACTUATOR AND ELECTRIC UNIT (CONTROL UNIT) SELF-DIAGNOSIS
Perform ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) self-diagnosis.
Is any item indicated on the self-diagnosis display?
YES - Replace ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit).
NO - Check ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector. If any items are damaged, repair or replace damaged parts.




Special Repair Requirement
1.ADJUSTMENT OF STEERING ANGLE SENSOR NEUTRAL POSITION
Always perform the neutral position adjustment for the steering angle sensor, when replacing the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). Refer to Description.
