TILT SWITCH


Description

Tilt switch is equipped to the steering column. The operation signal is inputted to the automatic drive positioner control unit when the tilt switch is operated.

Diagnosis Procedure

1.CHECK TILT SWITCH SIGNAL
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect tilt and telescopic switch connector.
3. Turn ignition switch ON.
4. Check voltage between tilt and telescopic switch harness connector and ground.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 3.
NO - GO TO 2.
2.CHECK TILT SWITCH CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect automatic drive positioner control unit connector.
3. Check continuity between automatic drive positioner control unit harness connector and tilt and telescopic switch harness connector.





4. Check continuity between automatic drive positioner control unit harness connector and ground.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES - Replace automatic drive positioner control unit. Refer to Automatic Drive Positioner Control Unit.
NO - Repair or replace harness or connector.
3.CHECK TILT SWITCH
Refer to Component Inspection.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 4.
NO - Replace tilt and telescopic switch. Refer to Removal and Installation.
4.CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT
Refer to Intermittent Incident.
