Interior - Power Folding Rear Seats Inoperative

IF YOU CONFIRM:

The rear seat power seatback(s) will not go up from a folded down position by power feature.

ACTION:

Adjust the Primary Position Limit Switch(es).

^ Refer to the SERVICE PROCEDURE section of this bulletin for repair procedure.

^ Hog rings are needed for this repair. Hog rings are considered a shop supply.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Rear Seat Seatback Removal And Disassembly


1. Remove the incident rear seatback assembly.

^ Refer to the appropriate section of the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) as needed.

CAUTION:
Protect surfaces with suitable covering before removing the seatback.

2. Disassemble the seatback to access the incident reclining device.

^ Refer to the appropriate section of the ESM as needed.

CAUTION:
Perform repairs in a clean environment.

3. Remove the incident reclining device's covers.





^ Figure 1 shows where the two cover halves snap together.

NOTE:
Left and right side reclining device covers snap together in the same areas.

Adjust Primary Position Limit Switch





1. Locate the Primary Position Limit Switch (switch) on the reclining device. See Figure 2 and 3.

2. Loosen, but do not remove, the two (2) screws securing the switch (see Figure 3).





3. Rotate the switch as much as possible toward the cam roller, and then hold it in this position while tightening the screws (see Figure 4).

^ Switch adjustment is now complete.

Rear Seat Seatback Assembly And Installation

1. Reassemble the rear seatback.

^ Refer to the appropriate section of the ESM as needed.

2. Install the rear seatback assembly.

^ Refer to the appropriate section of the ESM as needed.
