Interior - Console Lid Button Loose/Comes Off

IF YOU CONFIRM
The center console lid release button ("console lock") is loose or has come off.
ACTION
Replace the center console lid release button with the new one listed in the Parts Information section.
^ Do not replace the entire center console for this incident should it occur.

IMPORTANT:
The purpose of "ACTION" (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing the repair.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Perform all but the final step of the Center Console Assembly removal procedure in the IP section of the applicable Electronic Service Manual (ESM).
NOTE:
DO NOT perform the final step of the ESM removal procedure (disconnecting the harness connectors and removing the center console). Proceed with step 2 of this bulletin.
2. Open the center console lid and remove the finisher shown in Figure 1.
^ The finisher is secured by (2) pawl-type tabs. See Figure 2.
^ From the back of the center console push the two tabs forward to release the finisher.
3. Remove the center console lid.
^ The lid is secured by three (3) screws.
^ Place the lid in an area where it will not be damaged such as on a work bench with suitable covering.
4. Remove the inner console panel shown in Figure 4.
a. From either front seat using both hands:
^ Position the tips of two fingers just below the power outlet door
and
^ the tips of another two fingers just below the USB connector door then lift up the panel to detach.
b. Disconnect the harness connectors from the inner console panel.
5. Remove the center console assembly from the vehicle.
^ Place the center console assembly on a work bench with suitable covering.
^ Position the center console assembly upside down so that it is resting on its top.
6. Remove the switch panel.
a. Remove the six (6) screws shown in Figure 6.
b. Remove the two (2) screws shown in Figure 7.
c. Place the switch panel in an area where it will not be damaged such as on a work bench with suitable covering.
7. Remove the center bracket.
^ The bracket is secured by six (6) screws.
8. Remove the LH and RH center console side panels.
a. Remove the four (4) screws shown in Figure 9.
b. Remove the twelve (12) screws shown in Figure 10.
c. Place the console side panels in an area where they will not be damaged such as on a work bench with suitable covering.
9. Remove the cup holder assembly.
^ The cup holder is secured by four (4) screws. See Figures 11a and 11b.
NOTE:
The size of these screws are different then the other screws; keep them separate.
10. Replace the center console lid release button with the part listed in the Parts Information section.
^ The release button is secured by three (3) screws.
11. Reinstall all parts in reverse order of removal.
12. Verify the center console release button operates normally.
