Service Procedure
SERVICE PROCEDURE1. Write down the radio station presets.
2. If equipped write down / record the following customer settings for the ATC (Automatic Temperature Control) system (refer to the Service Manual as needed):
^ Temperature Setting Trimmer
^ Foot Position Setting Trimmer
^ Inlet Port Memory Function
3. Open the hood; locate the hoodledge cover RH and the battery cover.
4. Remove the battery cover.
5. Remove the hoodledge cover RH.
^ The hoodledge cover is held on with 5 clips shown in Figure 3.
6. Remove the cowl top cover RH (see Figure 4).
^ Remove 2 clips.
^ Take weather-strip loose from the side.
^ Take weather-strip loose from the top.
^ Release the lock tab.
7. Apply tape to the lower edge of the windshield.
NOTE:
Tape on the edge of the windshield will help protect it from chips and cracks.
8. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
9. Locate/identify connector F1 (connector).
CAUTION:
^ Make sure the area around the connector is dry.
^ If needed wipe off/dry the area around the connector.
^ Make sure that no water enters the connector while performing repairs.
10. Disconnect the connector.
a. Operate (unlock) the connector latch as shown.
NOTE:
The connector latch is snapped/locked in place. If needed use a plastic trim tool (or other suitable tool) to unsnap/unlock the latch.
c. Pull the female end of the connector out of the male end.
11. Separate the female end from the male end.
CAUTION:
Do not touch the inside of the connector ends.
12. Inspect the connector ends (male and female) for corrosion (see Figure 10 and 11).
^ If no corrosion is found go to step 13 below.
^ If there is corrosion in the connector - go to Replace Sub-Connectors.
13. Put tape over the male end of the connector to prevent debris from entering the connector while performing repairs.
14. Install the protective cover (cover) over the female connector end as shown in Figure 13.
15. Slide the cover on the harness toward the connector as far as possible until the cover is touching the top of the connector.
16. Position the cover so the slit will be facing the engine when the connector is reconnected.
17. Tape the cover to the harness as shown.
^ Squeeze the cover so the edges of the slit are touching.
18. Tape over the cover and the harness as shown.
^ Start at the cover and work toward the harness.
^ Overlap the tape layers. Do not leave any gaps.
19. Remove the tape from the male connector opening.
20. Reconnect the connector as follows:
a. Make sure the connector latch is in the UP (disconnected) position.
b. Push the female end into the male end.
^ As you push in the female end the latch will move to the 1/2 position.
c. Move the latch to the DOWN position and snap it (lock it) in place.
21. Make sure the cover is over the connector as shown.
22. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
23. Remove tape from lower edge of the windshield.
24. Reinstall the cowl top cover RH.
25. Reinstall the hoodledge cover RH.
26. Reinstall the battery cover.
27. Reset the clock and the radio station presets.
28. Reset! Re-initialize power windows power sunroof A/C etc. as needed.

29. Inform the customer they will need to reset the memory of their Auto Drive Position.
