Electrical - No Start, Low Battery Voltage

2011 FX; NO START AND / OR BATTERY LOW VOLTAGE DUE TO I-KEY PROXIMITY
APPLIED VEHICLES: 2011 FX35 and FX50 (S51)
APPLIED VINs and DATES:
2011 FX35 2WD - Vehicles built before JN8AS1MU(*)BM 711310 and 10/03/2011
2011 FX35 AWD - Vehicles built before JN8AS1MW(*)BM 733029 and 10/03/2011
2011 FX50 - Vehicles built before JN8BS1MW(*)BM 760217 and 10/03/2011
IF YOU CONFIRM:
An Applied Vehicle has a "battery low voltage" or "no start condition"
AND
The customer reports all of the following:
^ Vehicle is properly shut off and locked; and
^ One of the Intelligent Keys (I-Key) is outside of the vehicle but within approximately 10 feet of the vehicle.
EXAMPLE: The customer reports that the vehicle is locked in the garage and the I-Key is also left in the garage.
NOTE:
This condition will keep the Welcome Light function cycling on and keep the BCM from going into "sleep mode".
ACTION:
1. Confirm this bulletin applies (see Repair Overview flowchart.
NOTE:
If the customer reports the I-Key is NOT within approximately 10 feet of the shut off vehicle, this bulletin DOES NOT APPLY. Go back to ASIST and / or the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for further diagnostic and repair information.
2. If this bulletin applies, use the Repair Overview flowchart to determine which repair procedures to apply to your vehicle.
3. In the event that the BCM is replaced, make sure CONSULT-III plus is updated to the latest version to insure correct BCM configuration and I-Key initialization.

IMPORTANT
BCM PART NUMBER INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT
1. Get the vehicles current BCM part number (P/N) using C-III plus.
2. Compare the vehicles BCM P/N to the P/N in the Current BCM P/N column in Table A above.
^ If there is a match, replace the BCM.
> Perform "WRITE CONFIGURATION" with C-III plus.
> Perform I-Key initialization.
> For BCM location and "WRITE CONFIGURATION" procedure, refer to the BCS section of the ESM.
> For I-Key initialization procedure, refer to the CONSULT-III plus Operation Manual.
> Proceed to BATTERY TESTING below.
^ If there is not a match, proceed to BATTERY TESTING below.
BATTERY TESTING
1. Test the battery with the GR8 Multitasking Battery Diagnostic Station (battery tester/charger).
^ Charge the battery if required by the battery tester/charger.
2. The battery passes testing: Repairs are complete.
3. If the battery does not pass testing, replace it with the one that applies in PARTS INFORMATION.
^ Make sure the replacement battery is fully charged and ready for service before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
^ Reset / Re-initialize Clock, Radio Presets, Power Windows, etc. (Refer to ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REMOVING BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL in the GI section of the ESM for details).
