Service Procedure

NOTE:
Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) Interior Section for general procedure to remove Luggage Floor Trim and Luggage Side Finisher Uppers to gain access left and right Spindle (rear door lifts) harnesses.





1. Remove left and right Luggage Side Finisher Uppers (circled in green) to gain access to left and right Spindle harnesses.





Figure 2 shows location of the left side Spindle harness connectors.





2. Unplug harness connectors B94 and B95.





3. Tape the two Spindle harnesses together (only left side) with approximately 18 inches of electrical tape.

^ Make two passes over harness to increase thickness.





4. Reconnect both Spindle harness connectors.





5. Tuck Spindle harness behind body harness and insert extra harness into body cavity.

^ Route Spindle harness so that it will not come in contact with rear of speakers.





Figure 7 shows location of the right side Spindle harness connectors.





6. Unplug harness connectors B261 and B263.

NOTE:
Both harness connectors are connected to the same Spindle harness, but are not connected next to each other, as on the left hand side.





7. Tape the two Spindle harnesses independently with approximately 18 inches of electrical tape.

Make two passes over each harness to increase thickness.





8. Reconnect both Spindle harness connectors.

^ Route Spindle harness so that it will not come in contact with rear of speakers.

9. Reassemble both Luggage Side Finisher Uppers and Luggage Floor Trim.

^ While installing the Side Finishers, make sure the speaker connectors are securely connected.
