P0841 TRANSMISSION FLUID PRESSURE SEN/SW A

Description

Detects oil sensor function malfunction based on the mutual relation between primary pressure sensor and secondary pressure sensor.

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE


CAUTION:
Always drive vehicle at a safe speed.

1. PRECONDITIONING

If "DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE" has been previously conducted, always turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting the next test.
- GO TO 2.

2. CHECK DTC DETECTION

With CONSULT
1.Start the engine.
2.Drive the vehicle.
3.Maintain the following conditions for 5 seconds or more.





4.Stop the vehicle.
5.Check DTC.
Is "P0841" detected?
YES- Go to "Diagnosis Procedure" .
NO- INSPECTION END


Diagnosis Procedure


1. CHECK LINE PRESSURE

Perform line pressure test. Refer to "Work Procedure" Line Pressure Test.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- .GO TO 2.
NO- Repair or replace damaged parts. Refer to "Work Procedure" Line Pressure Test.

2. CHECK SECONDARY PRESSURE SENSOR SYSTEM

Check secondary pressure sensor system. Refer to "Diagnosis Procedure" P0776.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 3.
NO- Repair or replace damaged parts.

3. CHECK PRIMARY PRESSURE SENSOR SYSTEM

Check primary pressure sensor system. Refer to "Diagnosis Procedure" P0845.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 4.
NO- Repair or replace damaged parts.

4. CHECK LINE PRESSURE SOLENOID VALVE

1.Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.Disconnect CVT unit connector.
3.Check line pressure solenoid valve. Refer to "Component Inspection (Line Pressure Solenoid Valve)" .
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 5.
NO- Replace transaxle assembly due to malfunction in line pressure solenoid valve. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal and Installation.

5. CHECK SECONDARY PRESSURE SOLENOID VALVE

Check secondary pressure solenoid valve. Refer to "Component Inspection (Secondary Pressure Solenoid Valve)" .
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 6.
NO- Replace transaxle assembly due to malfunction in secondary pressure solenoid valve. Refer to
"Removal and Installation" Removal and Installation.

6. CHECK STEP MOTOR SYSTEM

Check step motor system. Refer to "Diagnosis Procedure" P1777.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 7.
NO- Repair or replace damaged parts.

7. CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT

Refer to "Intermittent Incident" Intermittent Incident.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- Replace transaxle assembly. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal and Installation.
NO- Repair or replace damaged parts.


Component Inspection (Line Pressure Solenoid Valve)


1. CHECK LINE PRESSURE SOLENOID VALVE

Check resistance between CVT unit connector terminal and ground.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES- INSPECTION END
NO- Replace transaxle assembly due to malfunction in line pressure solenoid valve. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal and Installation.


Component Inspection (Secondary Pressure Solenoid Valve)


1. CHECK SECONDARY PRESSURE SOLENOID VALVE

Revision: March 20122013 Infiniti JX
Check resistance between CVT unit connector terminal and ground.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES- INSPECTION END
NO- Replace transaxle assembly due to malfunction in secondary pressure solenoid valve. Refer to
"Removal and Installation" Removal and Installation.
