IF YOU CONFIRM:
The dome lights illuminate steadily and/or flicker intermittently on a vehicle that has Illuminated Kick Plates any time after all doors have been closed and continue to operate after the Room Lamp Timer has timed out.
^ Can occur while moving or stationary.
^ See the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) and verify the correct operation of all Dome Light features.
> Confirm that Welcome Lighting features are operating correctly.
ACTION:
Inspect front left and right harnesses to accessory Kick Panel Entry Illumination Lighting for correct routing.
^ Correctly route harness with SERVICE PROCEDURE.

IMPORTANT:
The purpose of ACTION (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire SERVICE PROCEDURE as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair.
SERVICE PROCEDURE:
1. Remove front Kick Plates and Center Console Side finishers from both drivers and passenger floor areas.
2. Remove Glove box to allow correct harness routing (See ESM for procedure to remove).
3. Remove both drivers and passenger front Foot Well Trim Panels.
4. Remove floor mats.
5. Lift both left and right front carpet to expose foam floor finishers.
6. Remove left and right foam floor finisher extensions to expose misrouted harnesses.
7. Wrap both kick plate light control units with several layers of electrical tape around pre-existing foam covering.
8. Harness should be routed along pre-existing body harnesses and held in place with wire ties.
^ Behind glove box on passenger side.
^ Behind brake and throttle peddles on drivers side.
9. Then route harness to upper drivers and passenger foot wells, above foam floor finishers. (Figure 7 shows passenger front floor. Drivers side routing is similar.)
^ Use foam tape from Squeak and Rattle Kit to hold harness in place.
^ Roll up and zip tie any unused harness length and secure out of the way.
10. Re-install foam finishers, carpet and Kick Panels for left and right front floors.
NOTE:
Harness now should no longer be routed under foam finishers.
