Chime Does Not Sound
CHIME DOES NOT SOUND
Description
Symptom check: In the following conditions, the warning chime may not sound even if the vehicle distance is short.
- When the vehicles are traveling at the same speed and the distance between vehicles is not changing.
- When the vehicle ahead is traveling faster and the distance between vehicles is increasing.
- The warning chime will not sound when the accelerator pedal is depressed, overriding the system.
- The warning chime will not sound when own vehicle approaches vehicles that are parked or moving slowly.
- The warning chime does not sound when the system does not detect any vehicle ahead. (Diagnose the conditions under which the system is detecting the vehicle ahead and when the system is malfunctioning. If there is any malfunction in detecting the vehicle ahead, check the system following the "Description" Frequently Cannot Detect the Vehicle Ahead / Detection Zone Is Short.)
Diagnosis Procedure
1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST
Check if the warning chime sounds on the active test item "ICC BUZZER" of "ICC/ADAS" with CONSULT.
Does the warning chime sound?
YES- GO TO 2.
NO- GO TO 3.
2. CHECK THE MALFUNCTION SYMPTOM DURING WARNING CHIME OPERATION
Understand the vehicle ahead detecting condition when the malfunction occurred. If the warning chime should have sounded, replace the ADAS control unit. Refer to "Removal and Installation" ADAS Control Unit.
- GO TO 8.
3. CHECK ICC WARNING CHIME CIRCUIT
Check the meter buzzer circuit. Refer to "Component Function Check" Meter Buzzer Circuit.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 4.
NO- GO TO 6.
4. PERFORM THE SELF-DIAGNOSIS
1.Perform "All DTC Reading" with CONSULT.
2.Check if the "U1000" is detected in self-diagnosis results of "ICC/ADAS".
Is "U1000" detected?
YES- GO TO 5.
NO- GO TO 7.
5. CAN COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM INSPECTION
Check the CAN communication system and repair or replace malfunctioning parts. Refer to "ADAS CONTROL UNIT : DTC Logic" Cruise Control.
- INSPECTION END
6. REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS
Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.
- GO TO 8.
7. REPLACE ADAS CONTROL UNIT
Replace the ADAS control unit. Refer to "Removal and Installation" ADAS Control Unit.
- GO TO 8.
8. CHECK ICC SYSTEM
1.Erase the self-diagnosis results, and then perform "All DTC Reading" again after performing the action test. (Refer to "Description" Description for action test.)
2.Check that the ICC system is normal.
