SERVICE INFORMATION

Isuzu has recently made changes to the automatic locking hub assemblies. The hub drive clutch assembly engagement spring now receives special heat treatment. The new drive clutch comes packed with wide temperature range grease. The combination allows for superior performance in extremes of hot or cold temperature.

NOTE: Additional grease may be purchased if required for installation or repair of auto locking hubs. Only the grease specified below is authorized for use with the modified drive clutch assembly. DO NOT USE THE NEW WIDE TEMPERATURE GREASE IN OLD STYLE HUBS.

If repairing a hub which has extensive internal damage, additional parts may be required. Reference the appropriate parts catalog for the part numbers. If replacing more than the drive clutch assembly, additional grease will be necessary. DO NOT USE CONVENTIONAL GREASE; HUB DAMAGE MAY RESULT.

Follow the procedure as outlined in the appropriate Workshop Manual.
