AVAILABILITY OF UNDERSIZED ROD & MAIN BEARINGS

VEHICLES AFFECTED

I-Mark with G180Z, and Impulse, P'UP, and Trooper II with G200Z Engines.

SERVICE INFORMATION

This bulletin will detail the procedure for using new undersized crankshaft main and connecting rod bearings in G180Z and G200Z engines.

Workshop Manual changes must also be made with respect to crankshaft clearances as indicated in the attachments. Update all applicable manuals.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
Utilize the new undersized bearings as follows:

1. Measure the crank journals as outlined in the Workshop Manual.

2. Select proper bearings to achieve the oil clearances as shown.

Crankshaft Main . 021 - .079 mm

Conn.Rod Big End . 019 - .075 mm

(Select bearings to achieve an oil clearance closest to .050 mm.)

3. Rod bearings must be used as a pair (i.e. same size bearing at the top and bottom of a particular journal).

4. Crank bearings may be mixed to attain proper clearance (see the chart below).
