P'UP TURN SIGNAL SWITCH NOT CANCELING

MODEL AFFECTED

All P'UPS before VIN No. D0714325

SERVICE INFORMATION

On affected P'UPS the turn signal switch will not cancel after completing a turn.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

The lack of canceling is caused by interference between the horn contact post and the turn signal quadrant (see illustration on back). Use the following procedure to correct canceling problems.

1. Remove the horn-pad assembly from the steering wheel, and mark the location of the wheel to the steering shaft. Remove the steering wheel nut and washer then remove the wheel.

2. Place the turn signal switch lever in the right turn position then remove approximately .012" (.30mm) of material from the turn signal quadrant (see illustration) by scraping with a knife blade or other sharp instrument.

3. Check switch for proper operation.

4. Reinstall the steering wheel, washer and nut. Tighten steering wheel retaining nut to 22 ft/lbs (3kg/m). Reassemble the horn-pad assembly to the steering wheel.
