Engine Breather Hose - Oil Leakage

SERVICE INFORMATION
When a complaint of oil drippage is traced to the engine breather hose, the following kit can be installed to substantially reduce the amount of drippage.

The following parts are contained in the vent tube kit.

SERVICE PROCEDURE



1. Remove tappet chamber cover and remove the "A" breather baffle plate. Install new "A" breather baffle plate. Reinstall tappet chamber cover using new gasket that is supplied in the kit.

2. On 4X2 models, cut 110mm (3 15/16") from the lower portion of breather hose.

On 4X4 models, cut 160mm (6 19/64") from the lower portion of breather hose.

3. Place hose clip on breather hose approximately 50mm (2") from lower end of hose.

4. Install valve and pipe assembly into the breather hose approximately 23mm (29/32"). Position valve so it is facing the rear of the vehicle.

5. Relocate hose clip so that it is approximately 12mm (15/32") from lower end of breather hose.

6. Place band clip around lower portion of oil return hose and mid-portion of valve and pipe assembly.
