SERVICE INFORMATION
In some affected vehicles, a slight vibration may be felt while driving, due to rear propeller shaft imbalance. This vibration occurs at engine speeds of 2,000 to 2,450 RPM or vehicle speeds of approximately 54 mph. To eliminate this condition, remove and rebalance the rear propeller shaft as described in this Service Bulletin.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Remove the rear propeller shaft as described in the appropriate Workshop Manual.
2. Have the propeller shaft dynamically balanced at a local driveshaft repair shop.
IMPORTANT
The propeller shaft must be rebalanced as a complete assembly (i.e., with the yokes intact) (Figure 1) to within 8 grams.
3. Reinstall the propeller shaft as described in the appropriate Workshop Manual.
Use the existing labor operation:
Propeller shaft balancing sublet allowance $50.00. Use Sublet Code SR for warranty claim submission (authorization is required).
