TROOPER AND TROOPER II (KT) TAILGATE DOOR HINGE CAMPAIGN

CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION NUMBER

Number 92V093 has been assigned to this campaign. This number will appear on all communications and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign.

AFFECTED VEHICLES

1984-87 Trooper and Trooper II (KT) models in "salt belt" states*.

SERVICE INFORMATION

During operation in wet weather, moisture may enter the tailgate door hinges, resulting in stiff hinge operation and possible hinge binding.

To correct this condition, follow the instructions in this Campaign Bulletin for inspecting and repairing tailgate door hinges on affected vehicles.

CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION/REIMBURSEMENT PROCEDURES

Owners of affected vehicles have been notified by letter from American ISUZU Motors Inc. (copy included).

The procedure for submitting requests for reimbursement for previous repair or replacement of KT tailgate door hinges is detailed in the customer notification letter. The reimbursement procedure requires a copy of the Repair Order for the previous repair.

Dealers should instruct owners of affected vehicles who did not receive notification of this campaign to contact the Regional Customer Relations Manager.

Contact your Zone Service and Parts Manager if you have any questions regarding reimbursement procedures for previous tailgate door hinge repairs.

DEALER RESPONSIBILITY

ISUZU dealers are responsible for repairing any affected vehicle at no charge to owners, regardless of date of purchase, mileage or selling dealer.

Whenever a vehicle subject to this campaign is in a dealer's vehicle inventory, or arrives at a dealership for service, the dealer must take the necessary steps to ensure this campaign correction has been made before selling or releasing the vehicle.

Each ISUZU dealer will be supplied a copy of the AIMI Campaign Report (AWS 123-1A), listing affected vehicles assigned to that dealership. The Report contains VIN and detailed owner information obtained from state motor vehicle registration records. The use of such motor vehicle registration data for any other purpose is a violation of law in several states. Accordingly, dealers are urged to limit the use of this listing to the follow-up necessary to complete this campaign. If none of the affected vehicles were assigned to a dealership, no Report will be sent.
