Evaporative Emissions System: Description and Operation

The evaporative emission control system on these vehicles, Fig. 10 is designed to direct raw fuel vapors from the fuel tank and carburetor into the charcoal canister. These vapors are mixed with ambient air and are then routed to the intake manifold to be burned during engine operation. The system consists of roll over and float valves, a relief valve, a check and relief valve, a vent switching valve and a charcoal canister.
