C223 ENGINE OIL PUMP PRECAUTION
VEHICLES AFFECTED 1986-1987 Trooper II (KT) and P'UP (KB) models with C223 engine.
SERVICE INFORMATION Lack of lubrication between the oil pump and camshaft assemblies may cause premature wear of the pinion gear. Ultimately, this may result in reduced oil pump life. To prevent this condition, follow the lubrication instructions in this Service Bulletin during OH pump assembly and installation.

SERVICE PROCEDURE Apply a coating of molybdenum disulfide paste to the pinion gear teeth (Figure 1) before installing oil pump. American Isuzu Motors Inc. recommends using StaLube Product No. 3333, Moly-Graph Engine Assembly Lube, for this procedure.
