2.3L AND 2.6L L4 ENGINE EXHAUST MANIFOLD STUD NUT REMOVAL/REINSTALLATION

AFFECTED VEHICLES

All models equipped with 2.3L or 2.6L L4 engine

When engine servicing in affected models requires removal of the exhaust manifold stud nuts. be sure to perform the following steps to ensure positive retention of the stud nuts upon reinstallation:

^ Clean the studs and nuts thoroughly to remove any traces of oil.

^ Apply Loctite 272, or equivalent, to the threads of all exhaust manifold studs. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions packaged with the product for proper application.

When removing stud nuts that have been treated with Loctite 272, or equivalent be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions packaged with the product to prevent damage or breakage to the studs.
