SERVICE INFORMATION

Excessive backfiring may be caused by a clogged gas vapor filter. Filter is located between the intake manifold and the mixture control valve. Figure 1 shows typical installation location.
SERVICE PROCEDURE

Replace the gas vapor filter as outlined in the appropriate Workshop Manual.
