Important operations - Removal




2. Gear shift lever assembly
Remove the return spring from the transfer gear shift lever, then remove the levers.




12. Frame bracket to transmission rear mount bolts and nuts
Remove the bracket to the transmission rear mount nuts and bolts.

(1) Mounting bolt location (Diesel)
(2) Mounting bolt location (Gasoline)

13. Transmission to engine attaching bolts and transmission assembly




Support the rear end of the oil pan using a jack or equivalent.




When removing the transmission, swing the transmission case 90 degrees clockwise for easier removal.

13. Transmission assembly
Position the transmission, with transfer side case fitting face of the transfer case turned down, in the vehicle and slide the gliding top gear shaft forward into the pilot bearing.




11. Transfer side case
Aligning the grooves in the shift arms and shift sleeves held in the 2H position.
