Oil Pump: Service and Repair

Note: Isuzu Manuals for this year model do not provide a detailed service operation for this component seperately; but rather group this service operation into an engine overhaul procedure. Where applicable, figures have been added to show some detail for this procedure.





Removal

1. Oil pump and pulley
- Use a 6 mm inner hex wrench to remove oil pump along with pulley and rotor.

Installation
1. Reverse of removal noting the following:




(1) Apply a generous amounts of engine oil to the rotor, then install the rotor with the chamfered side turned to the cylinder body.
(2) Apply engine oil to the 0-ring and insert it into the groove in the housing.




- Attach the rotor after applying generous amounts of engine oil torque kg-m(ft.lbs.) 1.4-2.4 (10.1-17.4)
- Wrench inner hex = 6 mm
(3) Check if it turns smoothly. If not replace the cartridge assembly.





(4) Attach the pulley and tighten with predetermined torque kg-m(ft.lbs.) 6.7-8.7 (48.4-62.9)
