Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

The air temperature switch is a bi-metallic sensor used to provide the ECM with inlet air temperature data. When inlet air temperature is below the sensor calibration point, the ECM overrides the ``Check Engine'' light caused by lean oxygen sensor error.
