1988 TROOPER II (KT) AND PICKUP (TF) BRAKES GROANING
VEHICLES AFFECTED
1988 Trooper II (KT) and Pickup (TF) models with 4ZE1 engine.
SERVICE INFORMATION
A groaning noise may be heard from the rear brakes when the brake pedal is slightly depressed while traveling at slow speeds. Installing new rear disc brake pad kits will eliminate the noise. These kits have clips pre-installed on the pads and a special grease preapplied to the back of the pad and the shim surface.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Replace rear disc brake pads as described in the appropriate Workshop Manual, using a new rear disc brake pad kit.
