Oil Pump: Service and Repair
Note: Isuzu Manuals for this year model do not provide a detailed service operation for this component seperately; but rather group this service operation into an engine overhaul procedure. Where applicable, figures have been added to show some detail for this procedure.Removal
1. Oil pump and pulley
- Use a 6 mm inner hex wrench to remove oil pump along with pulley and rotor.

INSPECTION AND REPAIR
Make necessary correction or parts replacement if wear, damage or any other abnormal conditions are found through inspection.
Visually inspect the disassembled parts for wear, damage, or other abnormal conditions.
Insert the vane into the cylinder body and measure the top clearance
Measure the clearance between the slide surfaces of the outer rotor and the cylinder body.
Clearance between the outer rotor and the inner rotor
Installation
1. Reverse of removal noting the following:
(1) Apply a generous amounts of engine oil to the rotor, then install the rotor with the chamfered side turned to the cylinder body.
(2) Apply engine oil to the 0-ring and insert it into the groove in the housing.
- Attach the rotor after applying generous amounts of engine oil torque kg-m(ft.lbs.) 1.9 (13.7)
- Wrench inner hex = 6 mm
(3) Check if it turns smoothly. If not replace the cartridge assembly.
(4) Attach the pulley and tighten with predetermined torque kg-m(ft.lbs.) 7.7 (55.7)
