SERVICE INFORMATION
Clutch pedal adjustment procedures for hydraulic control clutch systems are incorrectly specified in the following Workshop Manuals. This Service Bulletin contains the proper procedures for clutch pedal adjustment.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
Clutch Pedal Height and Free Play Adjustment
1. Refer to Figure 1.
(a) If equipped with cruise control:
Remove clutch switch connector. Loosen lock nut, then turn switch out until there is a gap between the switch plunger and clutch pedal.
(b) If not equipped with cruise control:
Loosen clutch pedal adjusting bolt.
2. Loosen clutch master cylinder push rod lock nut. Tum push rod by hand to set clutch pedal be ight to within specification.

NOTE
Measure clutch pedal height from the firewall, not from the floorboard. See Figure 2.

3. Tighten push rod lock nut.

4. a. If equipped with cruise control:
Turn clutch switch until switch plunger is fully retracted against the clutch pedal arm (Figure 3). Back out switch one-half turn, then lock the clutch switch lock nut (Figure 4). Connect clutch switch connecton
b. If not equipped with cruise control:
Tighten clutch pedal adjusting bolt just until it contacts the clutch pedal arm.

5. If clutch pedal free play is not within specification, repeat steps 2 through 4. See Figure 5. Ensure that clutch pedal height remains within specification.
