Early Fuel Evaporation ( EFE ): Testing and Inspection
1. With cold engine, disconnect EFE electrical connector.
2. Start engine.
3. Check harness connector for power and ground (one terminal should have battery voltage, and the other should have continuity to ground.)
4. Warm engine up to operating temperature.
5. Re-check harness connector, no voltage should present with hot engine.
6. If voltage is present with engine hot, or if no voltage is present with cold engine, then the EFE relay or the ECM may be faulty. Refer to COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS for more information.
7. If heater is found to be damaged or cracked in any way, replace heater.
