VEHICLES AFFECTED
Catalytic Converter Rattling: 1988-89 Trooper II (KT), Pickup (TF) and Amigo (TC) models with 4ZD1 or 4ZE1 engine.
Exhaust Pipe Rattling: All Trooper II (KT) models before VIN K8920591 or K7911796.

SERVICE INFORMATION
1. Catalytic Converter Rattling:
A rattling noise coming from the catalytic converter area may be caused by converter mounting bracket contact with the vehicle crossmember (Figure 1). Eliminate the noise by repositioning the converter mounting bracket to prevent interference with the crossmember.

2. Exhaust Pipe Rattling:
A rattling noise coming from the rear exhaust pipe area may be caused by exhaust pipe contact with the lower body (Figure 2). Eliminate the noise by repositioning the exhaust pipe to prevent interference with the lower body.
