Fuel Pump - Component Availability

AFFECTED VEHICLES

1988-90 Trooper II (KT), Pickup (TF) and Amigo (TC) models with 4ZEl or V6 engine.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Fuel pumps and fuel pump bracket kits (includes bracket, hose, clips and bracket fixing screws) for affected vehicles can now be ordered separately (Figure 1). The "Parts Information" section of this Service Bulletin contains part numbers for ordering these items.

COMPONENT INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONS

Refer to Figure 1.

1. Check the fuel hose for any damage, and replace if necessary.

2. Before installation, put a small amount of engine oil on the edges of the fuel hose, to allow it to slip on easily.

3. Be sure that clips are not installed on bulging area of the fuel hose.

4. Be sure that the fuel pump is correctly aligned with bracket, without any gaps between the pump mounting rubber and bracket.
5. Tighten wire connection screws to 11-17 in.lb. (13-20 kg/cm).

6. When reinstalling fuel tank, be sure that the fuel hoses are correctly installed (Figure 2).
