Fig. 11 Exploded View Of Distributor Assembly:

DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove distributor from engine as described under ``Distributor Replace.''
2. Remove distributor cap, Fig. 11.

3. Position distributor in a suitable soft jawed vise, Fig. 12.
4. Using a suitable drift, drive out split pin securing distributor drive gear to distributor drive gear to distributor shaft.
5. Remove drive gear, washers and protector plate from distributor shaft.
6. Remove distributor assembly from vise, then remove distributor shaft from distributor housing by pulling upward on rotor.
7. Remove three screws attaching pole piece and magnet to pickup coil.
8. Remove pole piece and magnet.
9. Disconnect pickup coil wires from distributor module, then remove pickup coil.
10. Remove snap ring securing pickup coil housing to distributor housing, then remove pickup coil housing.

ASSEMBLY
1. Install wiring harness to distributor housing, Fig. 11.
2. Position distributor module to housing, then install two attaching screws and connect module wiring.
3. Position pickup coil housing to distributor housing upper bushing, then install snap ring.
4. Install pickup coil assembly to pickup coil housing, then connect pickup coil wiring to distributor module.
5. Install pole piece and magnet to pickup coil.
6. Install distributor shaft to distributor housing, then position distributor housing in a suitable soft jawed vise, Fig. 12.
7. Install protector plate, washers, drive gear and split pin to distributor shaft.
8. Remove distributor from vise, then install distributor rotor (if removed) and cap.
9. Install distributor to engine as described under ``Distributor, Replace.''
