Power Switch (Ignitor)

Power Switch Functional Test:





POWER SWITCH CHECK
- Disconnect coil wire at distributor cap.
- Attach a spark tester (Kent-Moore J-125 or equivalent) to coil wire.
- Remove R.F. tire and rubber inner fender cover.
- Remove power switch from manifold.
- Disconnect power switch connector.
- Connect a jumper lead from the BLUE wire in the harness connector to the BLUE wire in the power switch connector.
- Connect a second jumper wire to the GREEN wire in the harness connector to the negative (-) terminal of a 1.5 V dry cell battery.
- Connect a third jumper wire to the GREEN wire in the power switch connector to the positive (+) side of the 1.5 V dry cell battery.
- Ground the housing of the power switch to the vehicle chassis.
- Turn the key ON.
- Disconnect and reconnect the jumper at the power switch.
- If spark does not occur at spark tester, replace power switch.
- If spark does occur, the power switch is OK.
