1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove horn pad retaining screw, then lift upward and slide pad assembly forward to remove.
3. Disconnect horn assembly electrical connectors, then using tool No. J-29752, remove steering wheel.
4. Remove steering column retaining bolts, then lower steering column.
5. Insert screwdriver between gap in instrument panel and grille, Fig. 7, then remove grille and bezel.
6. Remove instrument panel retaining screws, Fig. 7.
7. Remove meter hood retaining screws, Fig. 8.
8. Pull meter cluster outward and remove meter hood retaining clips.
9. Disconnect lighting switch, windshield wiper and washer electrical connectors.
10. Remove meter assembly retaining bolts, then disconnect speedometer cable and meter assembly electrical connector.
11. Remove engine hood release handle retaining screws.
12. Remove steering column lower cover, Fig. 8.
13. Remove fuse box retaining screws.
14. Remove instrument panel side trim, ECM box, front console and right side lower reinforcement panel, Fig. 8.
15. Remove speaker grille retaining screw and clips, then disconnect speaker electrical connector.
16. Remove two glove box hinge pins, then the glove box.
17. Remove heater control lever knobs, then disconnect air conditioning light electrical connector.
18. Disconnect control cable from heater and blower unit, then remove control lever assembly retaining screws.
19. Disconnect illumination controller electrical connector from back of instrument panel.
20. Remove instrument panel retaining screws and nuts, then disconnect instrument harness from ECM and remove instrument panel.
21. Reverse procedure to install.
