Pickup Coil

- Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Remove distributor cap and rotor.

Pick-Up Coil:

- Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance between each pickup coil terminal and distributor housing.

SPECIFIED RESISTANCE
Infinite (open circuit)

Pick-Up Coil:

- Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance between pickup coil terminals.

SPECIFIED RESISTANCE
500 - 1500 ohms

- If outside specified limits, distributor must be replaced.
