- Remove two slave cylinder bolts.

5. Rear propeller shaft
- Remove the 2nd propeller shaft flange yoke bolts and nuts at the differential side.
- Remove the center bearing retainer bolts.
- Remove the 1st and 2nd propeller shaft with the center bearing from the transmission main shaft spline.

6. Exhaust pipe
- Remove the exhaust pipe bracket bolt from the transmission case side.
- Disconnect the front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold and catalyst converter. (It is not necessary to pull out the exhaust pipe from the chassis.)

7. Harness connectors
- Disconnect the reverse switch connectors and harness from the transmission side.

8. Speedometer cable connector

9. Flywheel dust cover
- Remove two dust cover retaining nuts from the engine oil pan stud.

INSTALLATION
To install, follow the removal steps in the reverse order, noting the following points:

11. Transmission
- Apply a thin coat of molybdenum disulfide grease to the top gear shaft spline.
- Slowly operate the transmission jack until the front of transmission is aligned with rear of the engine.
The slope of the engine and the transmission must be the same.
- Align the to gear shaft spline with the clutch driven plate spline.
- Install the transmission to the engine.

Tighten the transmission nuts and bolts.
Torque: 37 N-m (28 lb-ft)

10. Center crossmember
- Install the center crossmember to the frame.
- Install the engine rear mounting rubber to the center crossmember.

Torque
Center crossmember to frame: 76 N-m (56 lb-ft)
Engine rear mounting rubber to center crossmember: 41 N-m (30 lb-ft)

9. Flywheel dust cover

8. Speedometer cable connector

7. Harness connectors

6. Exhaust pipe

Torque
Exhaust pipe to manifold: 67 N-m (49 lb-ft)

5. Rear propeller shaft
- Insert the splined yoke into the transmission mainshaft spline.
- Install the center bearing retainer bolts.
