Draining Bottom Pan

1. Place a suitable container under the oil pan and remove the drain plug.
2. Remove 19 bolts securing the oil pan.
3. Remove pan by lifting the transmission case.
4. Remove eleven bolts holding the lower oil strainer to the upper oil strainer, then remove lower oil strainer and gasket.
5. Thoroughly clean oil pan, oil pan magnet and oil screen with solvent and air dry.
6. Install oil strainer with a new gasket and torque eleven bolts to 60 inch lbs.
7. Install magnet in oil pan.
8. Apply liquid gasket to the oil pan and install oil pan immediately. Torque 19 bolts to 65 inch lbs.
9. Install drain plug using a new gasket.
10. Add 2.1 quarts of Dexron II fluid, then with engine idling and in Neutral and service brakes applied, move the gear selector through each gear range then back to Neutral position.
11. Check fluid level and add fluid as required to bring fluid to within specifications.
