Mass Air Flow Sensor Terminals:

Air Flow Sensor Inspection:

Mass Air Flow Sensor Circuit Inspection:

SENSOR CHECK
- Pull connector back.
- Using a DVOM measure as follows:
1. Between RED wire and ground.
Key ON: Battery voltage should exist.
Key OFF: Battery voltage should not exist.

Mass Air Flow Sensor Inspection:

2. Between WHITE wire and ground.
Key ON. 0.5 - 2.0 volts should exist when blowing air through sensor passage "A".
Key OFF. 0 volts should exist when blowing air through sensor passage "A".
3. Between VIOLET wire and ground.
Key ON and OFF. Less than 0.2 volts. Continuity should exist.
- When 1 and 3 are abnormal, check wiring and correct or replace as necessary.
- When 1 and 3 are normal, but 2 is abnormal, replace sensor.
- When 1, 2 and 3 are normal, circuit and sensor are functioning properly.
