Dashboard / Instrument Panel: Service and Repair


1. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures. Disconnect battery ground cable.

2. Remove steering cowl, then the instrument panel cluster, Fig. 6. Disconnect electrical connectors.
3. Remove meter assembly. Disconnect electrical connectors.
4. Remove ECM cover and instrument panel hood.
5. Remove steering lower cover, then remove fuse box mounting screws and position aside.
6. Remove engine hood opener assembly, then disconnect cable.
7. Remove glove box.
8. Remove heater/blower control lever assembly. Disconnect control cables at heater unit and blower assembly. Disconnect electrical connectors.
9. Remove audio system, if equipped. Disconnect electrical connectors and antenna lead.
10. Remove speaker grille and side defroster grilles.
11. Remove dash side trim panels and ashtray.
12. Remove instrument panel assembly. Disconnect electrical connectors and antenna cable.
13. Reverse procedure to install.
