CHART D-2 G-SENSOR CIRCUIT

Circuit Operation
The G-sensor circuit sends the ON/OFF signal from the G-sensor to the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) to judge the friction condition of the road (wet vs. dry, gravel vs. pavement, etc.).
Normally, the switch of G-sensor is in the "ON" position: with "G" of more than about 0.35G for both forward and reverse, it turns OFF. However, when the G-sensor "OFF" condition continues for 13 seconds with the stop light switch "OFF" while the vehicle is in motion, the "ANTILOCK" light comes on, and the Antilock Brake System (ABS) system is shut off.

NOTE: When the G-sensor will not turn "OFF" even under acceleration or deceleration of speed because of the G-sensor "ON" malfunction, braking distance may be longer on a dry (high M road. The G-sensor "ON" malfunction cannot be detected through diagnosis.
