Axle Housing

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove tire and wheel assembly.

3. Remove brake caliper and carefully position aside, using wire to hang assembly from frame, Fig. 3.
4. Remove brake disc and ABS sensor, if so equipped.
5. Remove parking brake assembly and parking brake cable bracket bolts attached to rear of back plate.
6. Remove bearing holder mounting nuts.
7. Remove axle shaft.
8. Remove snap ring, then using bearing removal tool No. J-39211, or equivalent, and suitable press, extract bearing and retainer from bearing holder.
9. Remove wheel pins only if necessary, using wheel pin remover tool No. J-6627-A, or equivalent.
10. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install bearing and retainer using bearing installer tool No. J-39212, or equivalent.
d. Install disc brake assembly.
