Manifold Pressure/Vacuum Sensor: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION OF THE MAP SENSOR
1. Warm up the engine and keep it idle.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hose (A) at MAP sensor, and plug the vacuum hose of VSV; MAP sensor.
3. Connect a digital multimeter across the terminals ((1) and (2))at the rear face of the MAP sensor connector.











Digital multimeter should indicate more than 2.5V

4. Connect the vacuum hose (A) to its original position.
5. Measure the voltage across the terminals ((1) and (2)) at the rear face of the MAP sensor connector.

Digital multimeter should indicate less than 2.5V

If the digital multimeter does not indicate the above voltage, replace the MAP sensor.
