With Rear Disc Brakes
PARKING BRAKE1. Release the parking brake lever.
2. Adjust the length of the cable by turning the adjusting nuts.
3. Tighten the adjusting nut. The parking lever stroke is normal if the lever comes within 7 to 8 notches when pulled with a force of 66 lbs.
REAR DISC BRAKES
1. Move parking brake handle to its fully released position.
2. Loosen the adjusting nut and the locknut. Parking cable must be loosened sufficiently.
3. Start engine, and apply the brake pedal firmly. Apply brakes several times.
4. Firmly grasp the second relay lever rod. Rotate the adjusting nut until all slack disappears from the cable. Tighten the adjusting nut. The clearance between the parking lever of the disc brake and the stopper pin must be within 0.008 inch.
5. Pull the parking brake handle to its fully set position three or four times.
6. Ensure there is no slack in the parking brake cable and the clearance between the stopper pin is within limits. If conditions are not as specified, repeat procedure.
