AFFECTED VEHICLES

1992-1994 Trooper (UX) models equipped with power door mirrors before VIN 7R7909551.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Some affected vehicles may experience noticeable vibration in the driver's side door mirror when traveling over well-used or rough roads. This vibration is caused by incorrect adjustment of the two mirror tension springs that contact the mirror housing. To eliminate this condition, adjust the tension springs as described in this Service Bulletin.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Tilt the mirror to its downward limit within the mirror housing, using the exterior mirror adjuster switch located on the instrument panel.

2. Gently push against the bottom of the glass, with both thumbs, to expose and access the two tension springs located on the mirror back (Figure 1).

3. Push the two tension springs up against the side of the mirror housing, using the fingers (Figure 1).

CAUTION
Adjust the spring tension carefully. Excess tension will inhibit proper operation of the door mirror.

4. Gently push against the top of the glass, with both thumbs, to return the mirror to its downward limit within the mirror housing.

5. Adjust the mirror and check for proper operation, using the exterior mirror adjuster switch.
