Drive Belt

CAUTION:
^ It is strongly advised to use a tension gauge to check�the tension of this belt. Checking tension by "feel" of belt is not accurate. Tension should be checked using a tension gauge after installation and break-in (about 1,000 km or 620 miles).
^ Tension readjustment of auto tension belt should be made only once when V-type HM' tension has dropped to 40 lb or less and poly V type's to 50 lb or less after the vehicle's total running mileage of 621 miles.
^ As for air conditioning (A/C) compressor driving belt, it is difficult to use a belt tension gauge. Depress belt with 98N (22 lb) and make sure that slackness is in the range of 8 - 12mm (0.315 0.472 in).

DRIVE BELT ADJUSTMENT
TENSION ADJUSTMENT
Generator & fan pulley drive belt Loosen generator fixing bolt and adjuster lock bolt. Adjust bolt by turning adjust bolt. After installation, tighten lock bolt to the specified tightening torque.

Loosen lock bolt and adjust bolt by turning adjust bolt. After installation tighten lock bolt to the specified tightening torque.






Power steering oil pump drive belt Loosen lock bolt and adjust bolt by turning adjust bolt. After installation tighten lock bolt to the specified tightening torque.
