Check transmission light on, code 61 stored.

Correction:

Code 61 is a gear ratio codes, the tcm computes this based on input rpm, current gear and monitored mph. It sees a difference between what input rpm is and what vehicle speed should be. This is usually a result of massive internal failure. The Service Manual suggests a mem cal replacement which usually has no affect on this code.

Inspect the adapter case pan on the front of the transmission (not the main transmission pan). If there is metal in the transmission, replace the trans assembly.
