1995.5 RODEO (UC) LOW FUEL INDICATOR LIGHT OPERATION
(OWNER'S MANUAL CORRECTION)
AFFECTED VEHICLES
1995.5 Rodeo (UC) models.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Low fuel indicator operation is incorrectly described on page 2-12 of the 1995.5 Rodeo (UC) Owner's Manual (Publication No. UC00-ONM-L0003-00, included in Glove-box Packet (Publication No. UC00-GBX-L0004-00). The Owner's Manual incorrectly states that the low fuel indicator light should come on when the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position, and if it doesn't, a faulty bulb or an electrical problem is the cause. The low fuel indicator light in 1995.5 Rodeo models only illuminates when the fuel tank is nearly empty. In 1995.5 Rodeos, the fuel gauge circuitry has been changed, wherein the low fuel indicator light no longer lights when the ignition switch is turned to the 'ON" position. In addition, on vehicles equipped with V6 engines, the low fuel indicator light is an LED, therefore, there is no bulb to replace.
The correct Owner's Manual description is as shown:
(8) LOW FUEL INDICATOR
This light comes on when the tank becomes nearly empty.
Fill up the tank as soon as possible.
The above corrected description has been printed on a correction label, to be affixed to the affected page in the referenced Owner's Manual. Each Isuzu dealer will receive a quantity of these correction labels based on the number of affected vehicles in dealer stock.
