SERVICE INFORMATION

This Campaign Bulletin Addendum to SB96-13-L002, issued May 1996, is intended to describe the differences between the current type Isuzu brush/grille guard, which is affected by Campaign No. 96S-001, and the earlier type Isuzu brush/grille guard, which is not affected by this campaign. These differences are shown in Figure 1.

AFFECTED BRUSH/GRILLE GUARD IDENTIFICATION

The current type brush/grille guard can be identified by the following features (Figure 1):

^ The brush/grille guard bolts through the license plate bracket directly into the vehicle bumper. No bushings are used.

^ The two side plates are single-piece construction.

NON-AFFECTED BRUSH/GRILLE GUARD IDENTIFICATION

The earlier type brush/grille guard can be identified by the following features (Figure 1):

^ The brush/grille guard bolts through the license plate bracket, through a pair of red neoprene bushings with associated mounting hardware, and into the vehicle bumper.

^ The two side plates are composed of two-pieces that are bolted together.

As a general rule, if the 3/8-inch diameter flange bolts contained in the Brush/Grille Guard Reinforcement Kit (Part No. 2-90169-531-0) are too short to mount the brush/grille guard to the vehicle bumper, that vehicle's's brush grille/guard is the earlier type and is not the subject of this campaign.
