Owner Letter
DEAR ISUZU RODEO OR PICKUP OWNER:This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Isuzu Motors Limited has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists on certain 1994-95.5 Rodeo models equipped with manual transmission and the 2.6L or 3.2L engine, certain 1994-95.5 Rodeo models equipped with automatic transmission and the 3.2L engine, and certain 1994-95 Pickup models equipped with manual transmission and the 2.6L engine.
WHAT IS THE CONDITION?
The voltage regulator, which controls the amount of voltage in your vehicle's electrical system, may contain manufacturing errors in an integrated circuit. This may cause excessive electrical charging (overcharging) of your vehicle's alternator, which could result in engine control malfunction, and/or in the worst case, eventual engine stall.
WHAT WE WILL DO
To prevent this condition from occuring, your Isuzu dealer will replace the voltage regulator in your vehicle's alternator with a new one. This service will be performed for you at no charge.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
Please contact your Isuzu dealer as soon as possible to arrange a service date. Instructions for making this correction have been sent to your Isuzu dealer. Please ask your dealer if you wish to know how much time will be needed to schedule and process your vehicle. Presentation of this letter to your dealer will assist in making the necessary correction in the shortest possible time. Please have your dealer refer to Campaign Bulletin SB97-04-L002. If you have sold or traded your vehicle, please let us know by completing the postage paid reply card and returning it to us.
Your Isuzu dealer is best equipped to obtain parts and provide service to ensure that your vehicle is corrected as promptly as possible. If you believe that the condition has not been or cannot be remedied without charge within a reasonable time, you may contact the National Owner Relations Department, American Isuzu Motors Inc., P.O. We are sorry to cause you this inconvenience; however, in the interest of your safety, it is very important that your vehicle be returned to your Isuzu dealer as soon as possible for repair.
